Official: Carlos Queiroz returns with Ghana
It's official as of a few hours ago. Carlos Queiroz is returning to the bench of Ghana's Black Stars as national team manager.
Just two months after his resignation following Ghana's elimination against Colombia (0-1) in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup, Carlos Queiroz is already back in charge of the Black Stars. The Ghana Football Association officially announced the Portuguese coach's return on Wednesday evening. The length of his new contract has not been specified.
"The GFA believes that Queiroz's extensive international experience, technical expertise, and knowledge of the Black Stars place him in an excellent position to lead the team into this new chapter," the Federation stated. His first mission will be to qualify Ghana for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, after the Black Stars' absence from the 2025 edition.
