Official: Edinson Cavani leaves Boca Juniors

Edinson Cavani is no longer a Boca Juniors player. The Argentine club has officially announced the termination of the contract with their Uruguayan forward, who is now free to sign wherever he chooses.

Arriving at Boca Juniors in the summer of 2023 following his stint in Europe, the 39-year-old had extended his contract until 2026. However, both parties ultimately decided to part ways before its expiration. Since his arrival in Argentina, Cavani played in 81 official matches, netting 28 goals and providing 3 assists. Despite his advanced age, he remained a crucial part of the squad.

Trained in South America before a long European career that included stints at Napoli, PSG, and Manchester United, the Uruguayan leaves behind an impressive list of honors and over 400 club goals. With this contract termination, Cavani is now a free agent and may be looking for one final challenge in his illustrious career.
