Official: Enzo Le Fée extends contract with Sunderland

Enzo Le Fée is continuing his journey with Sunderland. Having arrived from AS Roma in 2025, the French midfielder has gradually established himself as an important player for the English club. His performances have now earned him a contract extension until the summer of 2031.

Le Fée rewarded by Sunderland

Signed by Roma in the summer of 2024 from Stade Rennais for around €23 million, Enzo Le Fée spent only a few months in Italy before joining Sunderland on loan. The French midfielder helped the club gain promotion to the Premier League in spring 2025. Sunderland then decided to exercise its purchase option and keep the player permanently.

Initially under contract until 2029, Le Fée has now extended his deal by two additional years. Since the start of the season, he has scored two goals and provided one assist in six appearances in all competitions. Enzo Le Fée was pleased with the contract extension.

I am very happy to have signed a new contract with Sunderland. Since my arrival, I have felt the passion of the supporters and the ambition of the entire club. I have really enjoyed my time here.

The Frenchman now wants to continue his development with the English club.

We have achieved something special over the past few seasons, but I think this is only the beginning. I am very proud to wear the Sunderland shirt and I cannot wait to see what we can accomplish together over the coming years.

A strong relationship with Sunderland

Sporting director Florent Ghisolfi also praised the importance the midfielder has assumed since his arrival.

Enzo is a very important player for us, but also an important person in our group. He has quality, a good understanding of the game and personality.

Ghisolfi also recalled the player's journey since his arrival in England, when he was still playing in the Championship. Le Fée has since accompanied Sunderland in its return to the Premier League and has also experienced European competitions with the club. The French midfielder is now tied to Sunderland until the summer of 2031.
