OFFICIAL: Ex-Kaizer Chiefs coach lands new PSL club
Betway Premiership side Sekhukhune United have announced the appointment of Cedric Kaze as the club's new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Burundian tactician was unattached after parting ways with Kaizer Chiefs at the end of last season, alongside co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef, who took over at Durban City.
Amakhosi finished third with 54 points in the Betway Premiership last season, touching the 50-point mark for the first time in six years, thanks to the pair.
Chiefs, as a result, booked their spot in the CAF Confederation Cup and qualified for the MTN8 after missing out in the last two editions.
Now, Kaze is set for a new chapter with Babina Noko, which will be his maiden assignment as a sole head coach in the South African topflight division.
“Sekhukhune United Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Cedric Kaze as the club's new head coach,” read the club statement.
"Coach Kaze brings a wealth of expertise, having worked within the Burundi national team structures, at the renowned FC Barcelona Academy in Canada and as part of the successful Young Africans SC technical team in Tanzania.
"His expertise in player development, team building and high- performance football makes him a valuable addition to Sekhukhune United. The 46-year-old holds a Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, CAF A and German Football Federation A coaching licenses and played a key role in guiding Young Africans to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2023.
With Sekhukhune having finished fifth in the Betway Premiership last season, it remains to be seen how the Limpopo side will fare under the tutelage of Kaze.
