OFFICIAL: Golden Arrows appoint Manqoba Mngqithi successor

Betway Premiership side Golden Arrows have announced the appointment of Pitso Dladla as the club's new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The KwaZulu-Natal-born mentor had been unattached after recently parting ways with Durban City, where he had a successful spell in charge.

Dladla was entrusted with steering the City ship on an interim basis after the departure of then-head coach Gavin Hunt in December 2025.

He hit the ground running as he won his first game, and went on to oversee 21 matches in the dugout, winning seven, losing six, and drew eight other encounters.

Moreover, Dladla guided the Farook Kadodia-owned club to an eighth place finish in the Betway Premiership last season and won a historic Nedbank Cup title in May.

The former Richards Bay assistant coach is now set for a new chapter with provincial rivals Arrows, who severed ties with Manqoba Mngqithi and his technical team.

Abafana Bes'thende finished in an impressive sixth place with 41 points accumulated in the Betway Premiership under the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns boss last term.

Having arrived from a high of tasting domestic cup success, it remains to be seen how Dladla will fare at the ambitious Arrows next season.
