Official: João Cancelo returns to FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona has officially confirmed the return of João Cancelo.

After days of speculation, it's now official: João Cancelo is back at FC Barcelona. The Catalan club announced on Tuesday that they have reached an agreement with Al Hilal for the loan of the Portuguese full-back until the end of the season.

Having already worn the Blaugrana shirt during the 2023-2024 season, João Cancelo will once again play in Catalonia, this time donning the number 2 jersey. His arrival provides Hans-Dieter Flick with a fresh option at right-back, a position where Jules Koundé has been playing back-to-back matches without a true backup.
