Kaizer Chiefs have announced the mutual contract termination of fringe striker Tashreeq Morris ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The 32-year-old centre-forward joined the Soweto giants in January 2025 from the now-defunct SuperSport United, but failed to stake his claim in the starting XI.

He made a total of 14 appearances with a solitary goal across all competitions during his stay at Naturena, with four of the matches coming in the previous season.

Now, the player is set for a new chapter and is eligible to sign for a team of his choice on a free transfer as he seeks ample game time in the upcoming term.

“Following constructive discussions between the Club and the player, Kaizer Chiefs and Tashreeq Morris have mutually agreed to terminate their contract,” read the Chiefs statement.

"This amicable decision grants Morris the opportunity to pursue the next chapter of his career and join a team of his choice.

"We wish Tashreeq success in his future endeavours.

Morris is reportedly on the radar of Nedbank Cup champions Durban City, where he could reunite with head coach Khalil Ben Youssef.
