Official: Mahamé Siby signs in Singapore
Mahamé Siby is continuing his adventure in Asia. The French-Malian midfielder has officially signed with Hougang United after spending just a few months at Selangor FC.
A difficult spell in Sweden
Mahamé Siby joined Malmö FF in the summer of 2022 after leaving RC Strasbourg. However, his experience in Sweden did not go as planned, notably because of several injuries that slowed his progress.

The midfielder then had two loan spells, at Bastia and then Martigues. His situation became even more complicated in 2025, when he made no appearances in the Allsvenskan for Malmö. After this difficult period, the player permanently left the Swedish club in January in an attempt to relaunch his career in Asia.
Hougang United counting on his experience
Siby then joined Selangor FC in Malaysia. But once again, his playing time remained very limited, with only three official matches played for the club. Just a few months later, he is already changing destinations. Hougang United officially announced his arrival and intends to benefit from the experience he gained in Europe.
The Singaporean club describes Siby as a player capable of bringing “quality and experience” to its squad. His physical presence in midfield and his composure on the ball are also presented as important assets going forward. For the 30-year-old midfielder, this new challenge above all represents an opportunity to regain a regular place and bring greater continuity to his career.
