OFFICIAL: Mamelodi Sundowns announce deadline day signing

Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the acquisition of centre-back Wandile Dube, who was snapped up from AmaZulu FC on transfer deadline day on Monday, 21 September.

The 22-year-old Usuthu academy graduate got his breakthrough in the previous campaign, where he made 10 appearances across all competitions under Arthur Zwane.

He was promoted to the senior-team in the 2024/25 season, but didn't make his debut for the KwaZulu-Natal side, having been an unused substitute in the final three games.

Now, he is set for a new chapter with the African champions at Chloorkop, where he will be looking to stake his claim in the star-studded Sundowns squad.

Dube will be competing for a starting berth with Bafana international Khulumani Ndamane at left centre-back, with Downs looking to stamp their authority on all fronts.

Notably, the Brazilians have also roped in Antonio Van Wyk, Siyanda Ndlovu, Cassius Mailula, Thabo Cele, Thabang Matuludi, and Deano van Rooyen.

On the other hand, Sundowns parted ways with Peter Shalulile, Thapelo Maseko, Miguel Reisinho, while Thato Sibiya and Jody February were sent out on loan, among others.

Having recently clinched the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup, Miguel Cardoso's men face Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final after the FIFA International break.
