OFFICIAL: Mamelodi Sundowns announce Miguel Reisinho exit

Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the departure of midfielder Miguel Reisinho after just one season, as Foot Africa exclusively revealed in June.

The Portuguese signed for the Brazilians on a free transfer at the beginning of last season, alongside compatriot Nuno Santos.

He put pen to paper on a two-year deal with an option to extend his stay at Chloorkop by a further 12 months, in what was a market opportunity for Downs.

Reisinho made a total of 14 appearances across all competitions, chipping in with two goals and a solitary assist in his sole season at Sundowns.

The 27-year-old utility player was unhappy with the lack of game time under his countryman and head coach Miguel Cardoso last season, amid competition.

Notably, the reigning African champions played 50 games in the 2025/26 campaign, but Reisinho was unable to command a place in the starting XI.

“Thank you, Miguel. We are grateful for your time, effort and commitment in Yellow, and we wish you nothing but success ahead,” read a statement from Sundowns.

It remains to be seen where Reisinho will be plying his trade in the current 2026/27 season, with the player said to be on the radar of numerous clubs.
