OFFICIAL: Marumo Gallants unveil new technical team

Betway Premiership side Marumo Gallants have announced their new-look technical team ahead of the much-awaited 2026/27 campaign.

The Bloemfontein-based outfit recently confirmed the appointment of Phuti Mohafe as the club's new head coach last month, luring him from Polokwane City.

He will be assisted by Musa Bilankulu, who arrives after his exit at Golden Arrows, while Trevor Mathiane will serve as the second assistant coach.

On the other hand, Gallants moved swiftly to secure the services of Paul Matthews as the Sporting Director in a bid to bring stability in the football operations.

Matthews comes with vast experience having previously held posts at Tanzanian giants Young Africans and the now-defunct SuperSport United.

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa have also appointed Lebogang Qwaba as the fitness coach, Marcus Mashilo as the goalkeeper coach, and Mpho Maruping as the analyst.

Mohafe, meanwhile, has been tasked with securing a top eight finish in the Betway Premiership season and mounting a respectable run in domestic cup competitions.

With Gallants having survived a relegation scare with a 14th-placed finish last term, it remains to be seen whether the Limpopo-born tactician can change the club's fortunes.

Notably, Mohafe guided Polokwane City to three successive top half finishes during his spell in charge of the club - a testament to his tactical nous.
