Official: Mohamed Berte joins Cracovia
Cracovia has secured its new attacking reinforcement. The Polish club has officially announced the signing of Mohamed Berte, a 24-year-old forward who previously played for FCV Dender.
A contract until 2029
Berte has signed with Cracovia until June 30, 2029, with an optional extra year. According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Polish side beat out KV Kortrijk in the race for his signature. Dender is expected to receive around €500,000 including bonuses from this deal.
Of Ivorian origin and born in Brussels, Mohamed Berte began his development at Royal Léopold FC and White Star Brussel before joining KV Oostende in 2017. He went on to make 50 appearances for their first team.
An arrival to bolster the attack
After leaving Oostende, Berte joined Dender in the summer of 2024. In his debut season, he netted 9 goals and provided 2 assists. His numbers dipped the following campaign, recording 4 goals and 1 assist.
His arrival addresses a key need for Cracovia, especially given the injuries to Filip Marchwiński and Wiktor Bogacz. Berte will now be tasked with rediscovering the attacking form he displayed in his first season at Dender.
