Official: Mohamed Salah extends contract with Liverpool until...
This puts an end to months of speculation about his future. Mohamed Salah, the star forward of Liverpool, has officially extended his contract with the Reds. The club shared the big news on its website and social media pages early on the morning of Friday, April 11, 2025.
"Liverpool FC announces that Mohamed Salah has signed a new contract that ties him to the club beyond the 2024-25 season. Today's news means that Salah will extend his eight-year stay at Anfield and continue to help Arne Slot's team fight for the game's biggest honors," wrote the Premier League club in its statement.
While his previous commitment was expiring in June, the African prodigy, aged 32, chose to remain loyal to the Reds. Mohamed Salah thus sealed a relationship that has lasted since 2017. Although the club did not specify the exact length of the new contract, several sources mention a two-year extension that would bind the Egyptian to Anfield until 2027.
Since his arrival from AS Roma eight years ago, Salah has scored 243 goals in 394 matches. He has thus become the 3rd highest scorer in the history of the Reds. This season, he leads the Premier League with 27 goals and 17 assists in 31 games. With his immense contribution, Liverpool is heading towards a 20th English title, eleven points ahead of Arsenal in the standings.
