OFFICIAL: PSL club part ways with coach

Betway Premiership side Durban City have announced the departure of coach Pitso Dladla ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The former Richards Bay second in command took over the reins on an interim basis after the club parted ways with then-head coach Gavin Hunt in December 2025.

He hit the ground running in the dugout as he won his first match in charge, beating the now-relegated Orbit College 3-0 away from home.

Notably, Dladla guided the KwaZulu-Natal outfit to a historic Nedbank Cup triumph last season as they pipped TS Galaxy to the trophy at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The Citizens, as a result, will partake in the CAF Confederation Cup next season, which will be their debut in CAF inter-club competitions, a season after their promotion.

“Durban City can confirm that coach Pitso Dladla has left the club,” read the club statement.

"Dladla departs after a defining spell at Durban City FC, having contributed to the club's promotion to the Betway Premiership in a technical capacity, and later guiding the team to Nedbank Cup glory as interim coach.

"Durban City FC thanks Pitso Dladla for his contribution to the club and wishes him every success in the future.

Meanwhile, Dladla has been linked with the vacant seat at provincial rivals Golden Arrows, where he could succeed Manqoba Mngqithi.
