OFFICIAL: PSL coach bites the dust

Newly promoted Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Hope FC have parted ways with head coach Dylan Deane ahead of their debut campaign in the professional ranks.

The former Cape Town Spurs mentor took over the reins at the beginning of last season after the club bought the ABC Motsepe League status of Oriented Birds FC.

He guided the team to the Western Cape third-tier league title in their maiden season in the amateur ranks, earning qualification to the ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs.

Deane went on to clinch the National Playoffs, beating North West Soccer Institute in the final en route to securing automatic promotion to the second division.

However, despite his exploits in the dugout, the club opted to severe ties with the coach, stating the desire to take a different direction.

“HOPE FC can confirm that we have parted ways with Head Coach Dylan Deane,” read a club statement from the reigning ABC Motsepe League National Playoffs champions.

"In a season that will forever be remembered in the history of our club, Dylan played a significant role in helping guide HOPE FC to promotion in our first campaign at ABC Motsepe League level.

"His leadership, commitment, and contribution have helped lay an important foundation for the journey ahead, and for that we are sincerely grateful.

"Dylan's name will forever be part of the story of HOPE FC and the success achieved during this historic chapter.

"As a club, we have made the decision to move in a different direction as we continue to build towards the next phase of our vision and ambitions.

"We thank Dylan for everything he has given to the club and wish him and his family every success in the future.

Whether the rookies will retain their Premier Soccer League (PSL) status next season remains to be seen.
