OFFICIAL: PSL newcomers sign Stellenbosch FC striker

Newly promoted Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Hope FC have announced the signing of Tauric Gamildien from Stellenbosch FC.

The 20-year-old striker signed as a free agent after parting ways with Stellies in a bid to accumulate experience and establish himself in the South African football landscape.

He scored 16 goals in the Dstv Diski Challenge (DDC) last season, finishing second to highly-rated Bennet Mokoena of Mamelodi Sundowns in the scoring charts.

A younger brother to veteran centre-forward Ruzaigh Gamildien, who's also in the books of Hope FC, Gamildien junior is set for a new chapter in the second-tier next season.

“HOPE FC is thrilled to welcome Tauric Gamildien to The Immortals,” read a club statement.

"At just 20 years old, Tauric arrives after an outstanding Dstv Diski Challenge campaign, where he found the back of the net 16 times, finishing as the league's second-highest goal scorer.

"The Gamildien name already means a lot to our supporters through Ruzaigh's contribution to the club, and we're excited to see Tauric create his own legacy in a Hope FC shirt.

"We believe this is the perfect environment for another talented young player to grow, thrive, and fulfil his potential.

"Welcome to the family, Tauric. We wish you and your family nothing but success in the journey ahead.

Whether Gamildien will replicate the scoring prowess he showcased in the reserve league in the previous campaign remains to be seen.
