On Sunday night, after a dramatic turn of events, OM overcame Olympique Lyonnais (3-2) in Ligue 1, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netting a brilliant brace. The Gabonese striker opened up after the match.

After a frustrating first half during the Olympico clash against OL, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was convinced he could tip the balance in favor of the Marseille side.

"To tell the truth, I was even thinking about scoring a hat-trick. It may sound crazy, but that's what was on my mind when we conceded the second goal. The match was still wide open. As a striker, you have to stay focused. We had chances in the first half. When you stay in the game and keep working hard, at some point you get rewarded. That was my mindset at halftime. Even in the 60th minute, I told myself I would score. I kept convincing myself while continuing to put in the effort. I knew I couldn't work that hard without being rewarded. In the end, that's exactly what happened. My teammates set me up brilliantly and I scored twice. It's a great feeling," said the former Saint-Étienne man in the mixed zone.
