OM: Medhi Benatia picks Habib Beye as his choice

A few days after Roberto De Zerbi's departure, a clear favorite has emerged to take over from the Italian on the OM bench. That favorite is Habib Beye. In today's edition, L'Equipe reveals that the former Rennes coach is the top choice of Marseille's football director, Medhi Benatia.

The club's sporting director is convinced that the former Senegalese international has the stature required to lead OM, despite his mixed spell in Brittany. Several factors work in his favor: his deep knowledge of the Marseille environment, gained during his time at the club from 2003 to 2007, and also his strong desire to bounce back after leaving Rennes.

A meeting between Beye and Benatia was actually scheduled yesterday in Paris.
