OM: the Habib Beye decision is already raising eyebrows

Will Habib Beye be able to become OM's new head coach? Within the club, the choice of the Senegalese tactician is not winning everyone over.

In recent days, several names have been floated at OM for the head coach position. But nothing has been finalized yet. Among these candidates is Habib Beye. The Senegalese's selection, which surprised some when the first rumors emerged, continues to spark debate, especially given his challenging stint on the Stade Rennais bench.

On L’Équipe du soir, consultant Johan Micoud admitted he doesn't understand why OM would replace Roberto De Zerbi with Habib Beye. "Letting Roberto De Zerbi go to bring in Habib Beye and thinking you'll chase third place—it's a mystery. You have a coach with the best win percentage in the club's history, and just because he lost 5-0 to Paris, you let him go? The target of third place isn't far off. You're still in contention. Even if he wanted to leave, you could have convinced him to stay and protected him. And now your solution is Habib Beye, who hasn't achieved anything in a year and a half in Ligue 1 and faces the intense pressure that comes with OM... to me, it just doesn't make sense," he stated.
