Pitso Dladla gives Jonah Fabisch update as Sundowns clash looms

Golden Arrows head coach Pitso Dladla has shed light on why Zimbabwean midfielder Jonah Fabisch is yet to make his debut for the club, having put pen to paper as a free agent last month.

The KwaZulu-Natal outfit won the highly-contested race for the services of the 25-year-old dynamo, beating a host of Betway Premiership clubs to his services after he parted ways with German third-tier outfit Erzgebirge Aue.

He was part of the Zimbabwe national team that partook in the 2025 Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, and featured in all group stage matches, registering an assist in the 3-2 defeat to Bafana Bafana.

Fabisch, however, is yet to experience the rigorous Betway Premiership, with Dladla explaining that he suffered an injury in training, which ultimately saw his highly-anticipated debut delayed.

“He is with the medical team for now, he just sustained a minor injury in training, so they are working on it,” said the Arrows boss.

The former Durban City mentor went on to give an injury update on influential goalkeeper Edward Maova, who sustained a first-half injury in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-final tie against Mamelodi Sundowns in Atteridgeville.

“Maova is out for now, the medical team is going to inform us properly with a full report, but for now he is out,” Dladla added.

Arrows, meanwhile, swing back to action with a Betway Premiership clash against Sundowns at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday, in what will be a third meeting between the two sides in a space of two weeks.
