Premier League: Brighton sweep aside Crystal Palace and move temporarily into second place
This Sunday, Brighton dominated proceedings at home in a clash against Crystal Palace on matchday 7 of the Premier League. The Seagulls ran riot against their opponents.
From the outset, Brighton forced Crystal Palace into a mistake, with Jaydee Canvot scoring an own goal (4th minute). Diego Gomez doubled the lead with a shot from the centre circle (7th minute). Yasin Ayari added another goal (10th minute). Already overwhelmed, Pierre Sage's men conceded again shortly afterwards, with Charalampos Kostoulas scoring (49th minute) and Jack Hinshelwood adding a later goal (84th minute).
This 5-0 victory helps Brighton climb to second place in the English league standings. The Eagles sit 14th, and this will do little to improve Pierre Sage's situation.
