Premier League interested in Lucien Agoumé
Lucien Agoumé could be one of Sevilla’s most sought-after players during the next winter transfer window. According to AS, several Premier League clubs are closely monitoring the Franco-Cameroonian midfielder, whose release clause is set at €40 million.
Lucien Agoumé has established himself as a key player
Having arrived at Sevilla from Inter Milan, Agoumé has gradually taken on greater importance within the Andalusian club. At 24, the midfielder has established himself as one of the key elements in Luis García Plaza’s system. His start to the season confirms this progress.
AS highlights that Agoumé is among the players to have played every official minute for Sevilla this season, seven matches and 630 minutes as of September 28. The Andalusian club has also made an encouraging start to its league campaign, with four wins, one draw and two defeats after seven rounds. The defeats came against Atlético de Madrid and FC Barcelona.
Several English clubs keeping watch
According to AS, several Premier League clubs have been monitoring Agoumé for several months. Sevilla is now reportedly expecting to receive concrete offers for its midfielder during the winter transfer window. The Spanish club could then face an important choice: keep one of its most important players or take advantage of the interest from England to complete a significant financial deal.
The situation is all the more interesting because Agoumé’s contract runs until June 2028 but includes a €40 million release clause. For Sevilla, the main objective will be to withstand any potential approaches from England or collect the €40 million stipulated in the midfielder’s release clause.
