Premier League: Liverpool - Everton, a tense derby

Liverpool is going through a tough period. Defeated by PSG in the Champions League, then by Newcastle in the League Cup final, the Reds need to bounce back. The Merseyside derby comes at just the right time. A victory against Everton would allow them to get back on track and strengthen their position as Premier League leaders.

David Moyes approaches this clash with calm. Everton is practically safe and can play without pressure. The Scottish manager knows the main threat: Mohamed Salah. "He scores, he assists, he almost never gets injured. He's incredible," he acknowledged, before jokingly adding: "We'll take him to the airport and get him out."

Arne Slot, on the other hand, wants a reaction. He criticized his team's attitude against Newcastle. "It's unacceptable for an opponent to run more than us," he insisted. Liverpool will have to do without Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez. Bradley, Alisson, and Gravenberch could return. Everton gets Mykolenko back but will have to do without Calvert-Lewin and Mangala. A true English derby to start off April.
