Premier League: September's manager of the month revealed! (Official)
Fabian Hürzeler has been named Premier League manager of the month for September after guiding Brighton to two wins and a draw.
Brighton have completed the double. Just minutes after Pascal Groß was crowned September's best player, the Premier League announced that Fabian Hürzeler had won the Barclays Manager of the Month award.
The German manager was rewarded after a perfect month in terms of results: two wins and a draw in three matches, with nine goals scored and just one conceded. Brighton notably held Leeds to a 1-1 draw, thrashed Coventry 5-0 and then recorded a resounding 3-0 victory over the reigning champions, Arsenal.
Brighton third after a superb September
These results enabled the Seagulls to finish the month in third place in the standings. According to figures released by the Premier League, Brighton also lead the league in average possession, shots on target per match, big chances created and recoveries in the final third.
Hürzeler's stock is therefore continuing to rise. Manchester United and Tottenham were already monitoring his situation, while Brighton are not considering parting ways with their manager easily.
Hürzeler beats Iraola and Maresca
Three managers were nominated for the award. Andoni Iraola, Liverpool's manager, had also finished September unbeaten with two wins and a draw, without conceding a single goal. Enzo Maresca, meanwhile, had won all three of his matches with Manchester City, the only team to have maintained a 100% winning record after five matchweeks.
Fabian Hürzeler was ultimately chosen based on a combination of votes from the supporters and an expert panel. He thus claims the second Manager of the Month award of his career, following the one he won in August 2024.
