Premier League: September Player of the Month revealed! (Official)
Pascal Groß has been elected Premier League Player of the Month for September after an impressive tally of two goals and three assists.
The Premier League has made its decision. On Friday, the English top flight officially announced that Pascal Groß had won the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award for September. At 35, the Brighton midfielder is receiving the award for the first time in his career.
The German was one of the key figures behind Brighton’s excellent month. Across three league matches, he recorded two goals and three assists, for five direct contributions. He notably scored once and provided two assists in the 5-0 win over Coventry, before scoring and setting up another goal in the 3-0 victory against Arsenal.
A historic first for Brighton
With this award, Groß becomes the first Brighton player to be named Premier League Player of the Month. He is also the fourth German to receive the distinction after Jürgen Klinsmann, Leroy Sané and Ilkay Gündogan.
At 35 years and three months old, he also joins a very select group: only five players had won the award at an older age. The achievement further underlines Groß’s importance to Brighton’s excellent start to the season.
Belloumi was among the eight nominees
The competition was nevertheless strong. Mohamed Bachir Belloumi and Antoine Semenyo were among the eight finalists. The Algerian Hull City winger ended September with two goals and one assist in three matches, including a brace in six minutes against Chelsea.
Antoine Semenyo, meanwhile, recorded two goals and two assists with Manchester City, while Alexander Isak scored three goals for Liverpool.

Groß succeeds João Pedro, who was named Player of the Month for August. The final vote combined the public’s choices on the EA SPORTS website with those of a panel of English football experts.
