Premier League: Two Africans in the Running for Player of the Month Award

Once again, African talent is being recognized on English fields. Mohamed Salah and Yankuba Minteh have been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for February. The Professional Footballers' Association revealed the list of six contenders on its Twitter account this Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

In February, Mohamed Salah found the back of the net six times and provided four assists. These impressive statistics have propelled him among the nominees for the Premier League Player of the Month award.

Alongside Salah for February is a surprise. Yankuba Minteh, the Gambian starlet from Brighton Hove Albion, has made his way into this prestigious selection. Less publicized than Salah, he remains one of the driving forces behind his club's impressive performances.

Now, it remains to be seen who will lift this individual accolade.
