PSG: Ousmane Dembélé's heartfelt message to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after his serious injury
Moved by the lengthy absence awaiting his teammate, Ousmane Dembélé published a few words of comfort for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The day after the Parisian victory over Barcelona, the mood is far from entirely celebratory. Paris Saint-Germain have lost Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Tuesday's 4-2 win in the Champions League. The Georgian forward must undergo surgery and is facing a lengthy recovery.
“Stay strong, Kvara”: Dembélé's support
On Instagram, Ousmane Dembélé opted for a simple message of support for his teammate: “Stay strong, Kvara”, wrote the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner in a story. A brief but meaningful message as the 25-year-old faces one of the injuries most feared by footballers. His former club, Napoli, also sent him a message of support.
A particularly major absence for Paris
The blow is a significant one for Luis Enrique. During the 2025-2026 edition of the Champions League, Kvaratskhelia had scored 10 goals and provided 6 assists, directly contributing to PSG's second consecutive European triumph. Named the best player of the campaign, the Georgian is a major asset thanks to his dribbling, changes of pace and ability to disrupt a defensive block.
Without him, Paris lose far more than a finisher: his ability to draw several opponents also creates space for the other attackers. His lengthy absence will force the Parisian coach to redistribute the attacking responsibilities at a time when the club are pursuing their domestic and European ambitions. The exact length of his absence will depend on the surgery and his rehabilitation.
