PSG vs Monaco: Luis Enrique sets the tone

At Tuesday's press conference, Luis Enrique made his intentions clear ahead of the decisive Champions League play-off second leg between AS Monaco and PSG.

After their 3-2 away victory in the first leg at Monaco, PSG heads into the return fixture with the upper hand. But for Luis Enrique, there’s no room for calculation. "Monaco will start the match a goal behind, and we know we’ll face some very tough moments that we’ll need to handle, with the support of our fans. The best way to manage this game is to play as we always do. This isn’t a result to defend, it’s a match to win," declared the PSG coach during Tuesday’s press conference.

Despite this favorable scenario, Luis Enrique is determined not to see a repeat of the first leg’s shaky start: "When you’re 2-0 down in the first twenty minutes, it usually ends in disaster. But over the past two years, we’ve shown we can overcome adversity. Still, I’d much prefer not to find ourselves in the same situation again. We have to keep improving. Above all, we need to play this match as if it’s the first. We want not only to win, but to deserve the victory."
