The 2025/26 UEFA Champions League is set for a thrilling conclusion as the eighth and final matchday of the league phase takes place this Wednesday evening, with 18 matches kicking off simultaneously.

In this high-stakes context, Paris Saint-Germain will host Newcastle United at the Parc des Princes from 20:00 GMT, in a decisive showdown that feels like a final before the final.

As defending champions, the capital club is aiming for direct qualification to the round of 16, hoping to avoid the play-off stage. To achieve this, PSG must overcome the Magpies in a high-pressure clash between two sides deadlocked on 13 points, both locked in a fierce battle for a coveted Top 8 spot.

According to Champions League regulations, teams ranked 1st to 8th after the league phase qualify directly for the round of 16, while those finishing 9th to 24th must go through two-legged play-offs.
