RB Leipzig: Yan Diomandé’s replacement identified
Barring a huge surprise, RB Leipzig is set to lose Yan Diomandé this summer.
A year ago, the German side RB Leipzig splashed out €20 million to sign Yan Diomandé from Leganés. The Bundesliga club was convinced by the Ivorian international’s potential. Now, just a year later, Real Madrid is preparing to sign him for around €130 million—a massive profit for Leipzig, who have both the resources and the ideas to find his successor.
On Friday, Bild published a list of players on Leipzig’s radar to fill the Ivorian’s shoes. Among the options, one stands out in Ligue 1: Malick Fofana.
Real Madrid eager to finalize Yan Diomandé deal
Having tracked the Ivorian for several weeks, Real Madrid is pushing to get the deal done quickly. Tomorrow, RB Leipzig will depart for their preseason training camp in Austria. According to Sky Sports Germany, Real Madrid does not want Yan Diomandé to be part of that trip and is working hard to reach an agreement before then.
Yan continues his preseason with Leipzig, but according to the German outlet, the club is managing his workload carefully to avoid any physical issues while his future remains undecided.
