The Lens hierarchy is keen to secure the 25-year-old's services well beyond his current deal, which expires in 2026. This push is driven by Sarr's remarkable return to form and his increasingly essential role at the heart of the team's backline. The immense confidence shown in him by coach Pierre Sage has been a pivotal factor, creating an environment where the player himself is now seriously considering committing his future to the club until 2028.

Sarr, a former Chelsea player, has fully embraced his status as a defensive lynchpin for Lens. His importance is quantified not just by his estimated market value of €7 million, but by his undeniable presence on the pitch—he has been a starter in 90% of the team's recent matches, playing the full 90 minutes in those appearances for a total of 810 minutes of Ligue 1 action.

With talks reportedly progressing positively, all signs point to a mutual desire to build upon the solid foundation that has been established, making Sarr a cornerstone of the project in northern France for years to come.
