A few weeks ago, as Real Madrid was searching for its next head coach for the upcoming season, Didier Deschamps’ name was circulating in Florentino Pérez’s offices. The French tactician has finally come clean.

While awaiting official confirmation, Real Madrid named José Mourinho as their new manager. In the past few hours, Deschamps made a major revelation to Marca.

"I was on the shortlist of candidates during the selection process. I remember my son joking about it because this happened to me for two years. I left Juventus in 2007 and I was on almost every list of candidates, but my son would tell me the problem was that I always ended up being on those lists." the France manager revealed.
