Real Madrid: José Mourinho already puts pressure on Bernardo Silva
José Mourinho is already coming on strong with former Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva.
Clearly, in his debut appearance for Real Madrid, Bernardo Silva didn’t entirely convince José Mourinho—especially when it comes to his physical form. Coming on at halftime during the friendly victory over Ferencvaros (1-2) on Saturday, the Portuguese international midfielder showed he was a bit behind in his preparation after the summer break.

"He’s very important, but he’s one of those who really benefits from mentally switching off during holidays, even if he comes back in less-than-ideal physical shape. He needs to improve," explained José Mourinho.
The Portuguese tactician, however, remains convinced by what his new signing brings to the table: "He’s a fantastic player. He helps us bring the ball out from the back, whether as a number 6 or number 8. He can cover three or four positions, and with a small squad like ours and several injuries, we’ll need players like him."
