Real Madrid: José Mourinho provides an update on Endrick
On the eve of hosting Real Sociedad in LaLiga, José Mourinho gave an update on Endrick's situation. The Real Madrid striker remains sidelined due to a muscle injury that is also affecting a tendon. The Portuguese coach was unable to provide a timeline for his return.
“I can’t tell you. He has a muscle problem that is impacting the tendon,” he explained at a press conference.
Mourinho still counting on Endrick
Despite Endrick’s continued absence, Mourinho reaffirmed his full confidence in the Brazilian, who was targeted by several clubs during the transfer window.
“He’s a player I really appreciate and he was courted by many teams. I wanted him, that’s why I neither loaned nor sold him,” declared the Madrid manager.
The Portuguese coach also touched on Endrick’s situation with Brazil and his discussions with Carlo Ancelotti. Having returned to Real Madrid after his loan spell at Lyon, Endrick had already missed the win against Espanyol on the opening day. Still not fully recovered, he is also absent from the squad called up to face Real Sociedad.
