Real Madrid: José Mourinho reveals the behind-the-scenes story of his return

José Mourinho left Benfica to make his return to Real Madrid this summer.

In an interview for the Bet it drive show, the Portuguese coach spoke about the behind-the-scenes details of his comeback at Los Merengues.

"At the end of last season, the club contacted me. They told me: 'We know you, you know us, you know the club, its culture and its people. We know how you work. We want you to rebuild the team. We need you. We need you to rebuild and launch another great decade like the one the club experienced. We need you; we need someone with your profile.' I was happy at Benfica, happy in Portugal. I had left my country so many years earlier that, when I returned to Benfica, I felt very comfortable there. But Real Madrid is Real Madrid. Everyone at the club understood that my return represented a tremendous opportunity," recounted the former Red Devils coach of Manchester United.
