Real Madrid: Legal troubles, Raul Asencio breaks his silence in a lengthy message
For the past few weeks, Raul Asencio has been going through a difficult period at Real Madrid. Implicated in legal cases, the player has finally spoken out on social media.
Off the pitch, Raul Asencio was involved (and subsequently acquitted) in a case concerning the sharing of intimate videos with a minor. Recently, he was stopped with a blood alcohol level four times the legal limit in Spain. This resulted in an eight-month driving ban and a €14,000 fine. This Thursday evening, the young defender decided to break his silence in a statement published on his Instagram account.

"Today, after a long period of silence and after respecting a legal process in which I have always had faith, I can say that I have been ACQUITTED. And I think the time has come to say a few words." Over the past few months, I've been through a difficult time, and at times, I've had to acknowledge that information and opinions about me were published even before the courts had ruled. I understand and respect the media's role in informing the public and expressing opinions, but I also believe it's important to remember that behind every news story is a person and a family who suffer the consequences of everything that's published. I've always had faith that justice would ultimately set things right. Today, there is a court decision that speaks for itself, and I accept it calmly, with the satisfaction of being able to turn the page on a period that was very significant for me. I don't want to dwell on the media frenzy or the difficult moments. I prefer to remember the support of the people who stood by me and trusted me throughout this time. I want to thank from the bottom of my heart my family, my friends, my agent, my lawyers, and everyone who supported me and gave me strength when I needed it most. I also want to thank Real Madrid and everyone at the club who showed their confidence in me and allowed me to continue working, improving, and enjoying what I love most: playing football. Throughout this ordeal, I tried to stay out of the spotlight, work hard, and move forward. Today, I can do so with the peace of mind that I always believed in the truth. To those who have spoken about me in recent months, I simply ask that, now that justice has been served, this part of the story can also be told with the same care. I don't want to get involved in controversy or look back. I want to turn the page respectfully, with my head held high and a strong desire to move forward. I also want to address an incident related to a breathalyzer test. I deeply regret what happened and I take full responsibility. This experience has taught me a lesson, and I am convinced it will never happen again. I now want to move forward, continue working, continue improving, and focus on what I love most: playing football. It's my turn to speak. And I completely agree with my coach: not only on the pitch, but also off it. Hala Madrid. Let no one have any doubt”, he wrote.
