Real Madrid: Marc Cucurella explains his decision

Although he came through at FC Barcelona, Marc Cucurella did not hesitate to join Real Madrid in this summer transfer window.

The Spanish player opened up about this decision, insisting that such an opportunity simply couldn't be turned down. "For me, this was much better. An opportunity like this only comes once in a lifetime; you can't refuse it. (...) Having Mourinho call me is an honor. For him to say he wanted me and had a good opinion of me makes me very proud," the former Chelsea defender said on Radioestadio Noche.

He also confirmed that he was never really a target for Barça: "I was told they were looking for a left-back, but that was as far as it went. There was never anything more."
