Quansah in Real Madrid’s sights
Real Madrid want to anticipate the renewal of their defensive department, and their scouts have identified several profiles capable of meeting their long-term needs. Jarell Quansah is now among them. Jarell Quansah. The Madrid-based observers are particularly following his performances for Bayer Leverkusen, as well as those for the England national team.
At 23, the defender has reportedly particularly caught Real Madrid’s attention thanks to his speed, his quality in duels and his composure when playing out from the back. His profile also offers the advantage of being able to play in several positions.
Liverpool retain a €70 million option
The main obstacle for Real Madrid could ultimately be Liverpool. Quansah left the English club before the start of the 2025-2026 season to join Leverkusen for around €35 million. However, the agreement reached between the two clubs includes an option allowing the Reds to bring the defender back. Liverpool could activate it until mid-June 2027 by paying €70 million.
Since arriving in Germany, Quansah has played 50 matches, scoring five goals and providing one assist. Real Madrid will therefore have to monitor the development of his situation closely, as several European clubs also appear to be interested in the English defender.
