Real Madrid: Mourinho method fails to convince, accusation emerges
In recent hours, a Catalan journalist has made a serious accusation about José Mourinho’s methods at Real Madrid. The Special One allegedly uses 30-minute videos to ask his players to put pressure on the referee.
According to Catalan journalist Gerard Romero, José Mourinho is alleged to have introduced a rather surprising method at Real Madrid. The Portuguese coach is said to have shown his players 30-minute videos about referees before matches. This revelation comes amid an especially tense climate surrounding refereeing in Spain.
On his Jijantes FC show, Gerard Romero explained that he had spoken with several colleagues based in Madrid to better understand the situation within the Merengue club.
Are the Madrid players being told to push referees to the limit?
The picture painted by the journalist would be unequivocal: “A lot of tension, little football and a lot of agitation.” According to the information, this method was allegedly used during the last two matchdays. José Mourinho and his staff are said to prepare detailed analyses of the appointed referees, examining in particular their style, personality and way of managing matches.

The objective would not be solely to enable the players to better understand refereeing decisions. The Portuguese coach would also explain to them how to put pressure on the man in black, depending on his profile. According to Gerard Romero, this approach would form part of a broader psychological strategy.
