Real Madrid still has its sights set on the 2024 Ballon d'Or

Rodri's name is once again making waves at Real Madrid. The Spanish giants, looking to overhaul their midfield, are reportedly reigniting their pursuit of Manchester City's midfield maestro.

Signed in 2019, the Spanish international has become a cornerstone of the Citizens' setup. His impeccable reading of the game, physical presence, and unwavering consistency at the highest level have made him a global benchmark for his position. Crowned Ballon d'Or winner in 2024, Rodri has cemented his status despite a recent campaign hampered by injury concerns.

According to available reports, these injury setbacks have done little to dampen the enthusiasm of Real Madrid's management, who remain convinced that the player can continue to perform at the elite level for several more seasons. Under contract with Manchester City until June 2027, Rodri has yet to extend his deal. This uncertainty is fueling speculation about a potential return to La Liga, even if the move remains a complex affair.
