Real Madrid: Tchouaméni vs Valverde conflict, José Mourinho sets the record straight
Recall that the end of Real Madrid's 2025-2026 season was overshadowed by a controversial altercation between midfielders Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde.
Both players will now continue to work together for Los Merengues in the 2026-2027 campaign. At a press conference, Madrid manager José Mourinho appeared confident about the relationship between the Frenchman and the Uruguayan.

"I arrived and received a lot of information. I spent three years here, I have my contacts, just like you. I learned a lot of things, and not just about this Tchouaméni-Valverde affair. I decided to start from scratch, of course from a privileged position. I didn't need to talk to Tchouaméni. I observed that everything was normal. Without knowing about the issue, when you see how they interact, you couldn't even imagine what happened last season. They told me I didn't need to get involved. It's not about peace, but about normality, friendship, cooperation. It's as if nothing ever happened," the Portuguese coach declared this Friday.
