OM: Al-Hilal's offer for Nayef Aguerd rejected
In recent hours, Olympique de Marseille has turned down a straightforward €8 million offer from Al-Sadd for Nayef Aguerd.
This decision could prove costly for OM, who are already racing against the clock to reduce their wage bill. According to information from Foot Mercato, OM rejected an €8 million bid from Al-Sadd to sign Nayef Aguerd. The Marseille management deemed this sum far too low, sticking to their asking price of €15 million for the Moroccan defender, in line with the clause negotiated when he signed last summer.
It must be said that this rejection comes at a time of acute financial pressure for OM, who are forced to make several sales to balance their books before the transfer window closes. The Qatari club could walk away from the deal if the gap between the two parties isn't narrowed quickly.

Time is running out for OM. The longer negotiations drag on, the less room the club has to maneuver as the transfer deadline approaches. If this sale falls through, OM will be forced to urgently rethink their wage reduction strategy, risking having to offload their central defender at a knockdown price in the final days of the transfer market, or keep him without having trimmed the wage bill as planned.
