FC Barcelona: The latest on Pau Cubarsí

On Wednesday night, Pau Cubarsí was the notable absentee from FC Barcelona's squad.

His absence was the headline of the Joan Gamper Trophy clash, as Barcelona faced Al-Ahly (2-1) on Wednesday evening. The Spanish international defender Pau Cubarsí was the only Catalan player not to set foot on the pitch against the Egyptian side. This absence triggered serious concern, especially with Barça set to kick off their La Liga campaign on Sunday in Elche.

However, according to Sport, there’s no reason to worry about the young centre-back. Pau Cubarsí is not dealing with any physical issues whatsoever.

Hansi Flick simply opted to rest him, avoiding any injury risk just days before the Blaugrana’s official season opener.
