FC Barcelona: Hamza Abdelkarim impresses Hansi Flick
Egyptian talent Hamza Abdelkarim has taken full advantage of the summer preparations, shaking up the pecking order with four goals in six matches for FC Barcelona. This is the club's best tally during this period.
During pre-season, Hamza Abdelkarim netted a brace against Birmingham (2-2), before scoring against FC Basel (5-2) and Al-Ahly (2-1). "He did exactly what I expect from a number 9. Hamza is very humble and has a fantastic personality," Hans-Dieter Flick said after his performance against the English club.
Having arrived from Al-Ahly on loan last February, Abdelkarim convinced Barça to activate his €1.5 million buyout clause in June. He is now under contract until June 2029. The youngest Egyptian ever to play in a World Cup after coming on against Belgium this summer, Hamza Abdelkarim could benefit from the departures of Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, and Marcus Rashford to secure a real spot in the first team.

The fact that Barça still hasn't managed to convince Atletico Madrid to part with Julian Alvarez could also play in Abdelkarim's favor.
