In recent days, Rodri has been linked with a move to FC Barcelona. Following this setback, José Mourinho has called for reinforcements in midfield. Real Madrid will now need to recruit.

After Real Madrid’s friendly match against Ferencvaros (2-1) on Saturday night, José Mourinho did not hesitate to demand reinforcements from the board. The Portuguese coach is expecting a new arrival in midfield—and he made it clear. "We want a small squad, with 20 players plus those out injured, like Rodrygo, Militao or Ferland. But we also need a new player who can do what Bernardo does, namely play in several positions (in midfield)," he stated.

However, it was rumored that Real Madrid’s management would not bring in any new signings after the Rodri setback, potentially marking the end of the transfer window for the Merengues. José Félix Diaz, chief editor at AS, explained that Madrid’s decision-makers are still evaluating several players as potential midfield recruits. The name Ayyoub Bouaddi has been mentioned. Two other targets are also on the list: Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace) and Kees Smit (AZ Alkmaar).
