Speaking to the press this Tuesday ahead of the clash with Athletic Bilbao, Xabi Alonso was unequivocal about his future.

After being held to a 1-1 draw at Girona on Sunday, Real Madrid surrendered the top spot in the standings to their rivals, FC Barcelona. On the eve of the showdown with Athletic Bilbao, Xabi Alonso faced the media this Tuesday. Asked about the current situation at Real Madrid and his own future, the Spanish tactician made things clear.

"We are where we are, both in La Liga and in the Champions League. We live with expectations and criticism. We focus on what we can improve and on winning matches to be where we want to be in April and May. Is your job on the line tomorrow? I spoke to the president again, the atmosphere is good. The discussions are very positive and we want to turn things around," he declared.
