Roberto Carlos chooses Mbappé for the 2026 Ballon d’Or

Real Madrid and Brazil legend Roberto Carlos believes that Kylian Mbappé is the player who deserves to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or.

Speaking on the sidelines of his participation in the Portugal Football Summit in Oeiras, the former Brazilian international spoke to AS and revealed his choice ahead of the ceremony, scheduled for October 26 in London.

Asked to name the player he considers the most deserving, Roberto Carlos did not hesitate when it came to identifying his favorite:

“ Kylian Mbappé ”.

On another note, the former Real Madrid full-back also spoke about his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, saying that the Portuguese forward could still perform at the highest level for several years.

" He can play for another ten years. He has extraordinary physical abilities, he is happy to be with the Portugal national team and he still enjoys playing football just as much ", he said.

Roberto also revealed that he had considered becoming a coach after ending his playing career. His plan was to start with a small team before eventually attempting to take charge of the Brazilian national team.

" I genuinely thought about becoming a football coach... my idea was to start with a small team, then one day go on to coach the Brazilian national team ", he explained.

Ultimately, the former Brazilian defender chose a different path after retiring, continuing his activities in sport and business while remaining a Real Madrid ambassador.
