Roberto Fernández attracting interest from Bundesliga clubs
Espanyol striker Roberto Fernández is beginning to attract interest from several Bundesliga clubs after a particularly convincing start to the season.
The 24-year-old striker has scored 6 goals in 7 La Liga appearances this season, confirming his excellent form since the start of the campaign. He also scored 7 goals last season.
His performances earned him his first call-up to the Spain national team. Called up by Luis de la Fuente, Fernández made his international debut on 3 October against the Czech Republic. Named in the starting XI, he played the entire match, which Spain won 3-1.
Roberto Fernández, the latest target for Bundesliga clubs
According to Florian Plettenberg, a journalist for Sky Sport Germany, Roberto Fernández’s situation will be one to watch over the next two transfer windows.
Several Bundesliga clubs have already expressed their interest in the striker ahead of next summer’s transfer window.
Under contract with Espanyol until 2031, Fernández therefore puts his club in a favourable position should the interested clubs make a move.
