Robin van Persie's stint on the Feyenoord Rotterdam bench has come to an end. The Rotterdam club officially announced the departure of their manager following a sporting project review conducted by the new management.

Appointed in February 2025, Van Persie managed to keep Feyenoord competitive on the domestic front. After securing third place in his first full season, he led the team to a runner-up finish in the Netherlands this year, just behind PSV Eindhoven. However, internally, several indicators convinced the board that a change was needed to inject new momentum into the squad.

Feyenoord will now set about finding his successor to prepare for the upcoming season and maintain their ambitions both in the league and on the European stage. At 42, Robin van Persie sees a major chapter of his young managerial career come to a close, just months after establishing the club among the country’s elite sides.
