A Real Madrid star is close to signing a new contract.

Real Madrid is preparing to secure the future of its French midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni who has attracted the attention of several clubs during the summer transfer window.

Tchouaméni soon to be tied to Real Madrid until 2031

According to information from Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid is on the verge of reaching a final agreement with Aurélien Tchouaméni to extend his contract.

On his official (X) account, Romano announced: “Aurélien Tchouaméni will soon sign a new contract with Real Madrid.”

The journalist went on to clarify: "An agreement has been reached for a contract extension until June 2031. Real Madrid is now ready to make the signing official in the coming days."

He also indicated that Manchester United's interest never led to concrete negotiations due to the player's high salary demands and Real Madrid's firm intention to keep him at the club.

Currently with the French national team for the 2026 World Cup, Tchouaméni missed the round of 16 clash against Paraguay due to a groin injury. However the midfielder has since returned to full team training and is now fully fit.

Les Bleus will take on Morocco this Thursday at Boston Stadium, United States, in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup. Kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 GMT.
